Terms of Service
Welcome to Devscroll ("Devscroll", "we", "us", or "our"), a personal, non-commercial hobby project operated by an individual. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Devscroll website, applications, and API (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
2. Accounts and Authentication
You may create an account using an email address and password ("native" account) or by signing in through a third-party provider (Google or Facebook). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at support@devscroll.in if you suspect unauthorized use.
3. The Service
Devscroll aggregates publicly available articles from third-party developer blogs and RSS feeds and presents them in a personalized feed. The Service lets you save articles, manage which blogs appear in your feed, and track reading activity ("streaks"). We do not own the third-party content surfaced through the Service; all rights in that content remain with its respective publishers.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
- Access the API in a manner that exceeds published rate limits, or attempt to circumvent them;
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content except through features we expressly provide;
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- Reverse engineer, or use the Service to build a competing product in violation of applicable law.
5. Third-Party Content and Links
The Service displays and links to content hosted by third parties. We do not endorse and are not responsible for third-party content, and your interactions with third-party websites are governed by their own terms and policies. Publishers may request removal of their content from the Service by contacting support@devscroll.in.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service itself — including its software, design, and trademarks — is owned by the operator of Devscroll and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the Service, which permanently removes your associated personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or where required to protect the Service or other users.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that aggregated content will be accurate or complete.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR OF DEVSCROLL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service or by email. Your continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
